All of Cadman Drive will be repaved by the end of this construction season (by November).
The village appreciates the patience of Cadman Drive residents and visitors who have awaited this much-needed repaving project.
The Village of Williamsville in 2018 applied for a green infrastructure grant that would have assisted in funding for repaving of Cadman Drive; however, the municipality did not receive the grant.
Cadman Drive was then placed at the top of the list of village streets needing immediate reconstruction.
The Village Board in July held two special meetings regarding Cadman Drive; one was to accept a bid of about $1.044 million for the reconstruction of the street, while the other was to authorize an additional bond to assist in paying the cost.
Millherst Construction was awarded the bid to conduct the work. The bond, authorized in mid-July, needs 30 days to clear. The funding will then be available by the middle of this month.
The village has been told by the contractor that, weather depending, all of Cadman Drive would be reconstructed within 20 days following mobilization of their crews to the work site. Work to be completed as per the bid includes milling, paving, curbing, and underdrainage.
