Total Eclipse Information for the Village of Williamsville

Please join us for a Solar Eclipse 2024 informational meeting to be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Village Meeting House, 5658 Main Street, Williamsville.

Did you know that the Western New York region is on the Centerline of Totality for the Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024?  If the weather is clear, we will get to see the entire eclipse from anywhere in the Village of Williamsville!

Partial eclipse will begin a little after 2:00 p.m. Totality will begin at about 3:15 p.m. depending in your location. Totality will last about 3 minutes and 45 seconds if you are on the centerline. Partial eclipse ends at about 4:30 p.m.

Safety First! Solar eclipse glasses will be available through Amherst Public Libraries through Spring. Please check first with your local library to see if they have supplies.

How rare is this? Buffalo has seen two solar eclipses…one on June 16, 1806, and the other on January 24, 1925. The next time Buffalo will see a solar eclipse is October 26, 2144, and July 17, 2045.
