During its meeting on June 22, the Village Board unanimously approved a code change to streamline government operations by eliminating the requirement that outdoor seating requests have to be referred to and reviewed by the Planning Board before moving to the Building Department.
The amendment stems from the board’s June 8 work session when the mayor and trustees discussed the topic with members of the Williamsville Business Association. As a result of the board’s approval, the Building Department has the authority to validate outdoor seating permits without the request being reviewed by the Planning Board.
The public hearing on the matter was held prior to the board’s vote. During the hearing, only one person spoke and there was no opposition to the amendment.
