Village names scavenger hunt winners, contest garners 85 entries

Trustee Al Yates is assisted by Ike, an Easter Bunny helper, during the drawing for the scavenger hunt contest.

WILLIAMSVILLE, NY (March 16, 2021) –The village’s Youth and Recreation Committee received 85 entries from its Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt contest, which was held from March 15 to 31.

To take part in the contest, participants searched the village for 20 large paper Easter eggs that were placed in the community. Using the entry forms, contestants documented the location they found each egg.

The committee is thankful to everyone who participated in the contest. Entries were received from people in Amherst, Getzville, Tonawanda, Lancaster, Newfane, and Akron, as well as in the Village of Williamsville.

Ten Easter basket winners were chosen by randomly drawing names from the entries received.The drawing was led by Trustee Al Yates, Village Board liaison to the Youth & Recreation committee. Yates was assisted by Ike, of of the Easter Bunny’s helpers. 

The winning families, by last name, are: Richards, Chowaniec, Akromas, DesJardins, Antoulinakis-Brennan, Alexander, Yurko, Rivera, Wilson, and Jaworski.

Each of the winners will receive an Easter basket that includes fun items.
