The Village Board beginning in September will change its meeting structure to hold only a work session on the second Monday of each month, with regular meetings set for the fourth Monday.
This meeting structure will only effect months when two meetings are held, which is why the new format is not scheduled to occur in August, when one meeting is set for Aug. 19.
On the second Monday, full work sessions will be held at 6 p.m. Official board votes do not occur during work sessions.
An abbreviated, 30-minute work session will be held on the fourth Monday to allow the Village Board to review important issues or sign necessary documents. As such, work sessions on the fourth Monday will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the regular voting meeting starting promptly at 6:30 p.m.
All work sessions and regular meetings will be held in the auditorium at Village Hall, 5565 Main St.
Village Mayor Deb Rogers said the new format will benefit the board and the public because it adds continuity to the meetings.
The first work session to be held using the new format is set for Monday, Sept. 9.
