Village posts video from April 27 meeting; budget unanimously adopted

The Village Board on Monday, April 27, unanimously adopted the $4.3 million 2020-21 budget during its regular meeting. Above is a link to a video recording of the meeting.

A discussion of the budget prior to the board’s vote on the matter can be viewed at the 30:50 mark of the video.

The budget, which exceeds the state’s 2.22 percent tax cap, will cause the 2020-21 tax bill of a $250,000 property – assessed at 95% – to increase by about $188.

The Village Board is stressing to its constituents that other than in 2014, when  the Water Department was turned over to the Erie County Water Authority, each of the village’s budgets were within the state’s mandated tax cap.

The meeting was held through the use of Zoom, a website and app that allows multi-user video and audio communication.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Village Board meetings will be held virtually until further notice. The board’s next meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 11.
