Lehigh Trail bench painted by Daisy Troop 31134

WILLIAMSVILLE, NY (October 25, 2022) – Daisy Troop 31134, made up of first graders at Forest Elementary, completed a community service project, painting a bench on the Lehigh Trail. The bench was in need of a fresh coat of paint, and these creative Girl Scouts thought it would be fun to make it beautiful too. The girls worked collaboratively to come up with the design, and then spent a Saturday afternoon painting the bench. The troop is led by Troop leaders Lauren Schellinger and Ashley Wendelboe. Hopefully other community groups will “adopt a bench” to keep adding public art to the village! Anyone interested should be sure to use exterior paint, prime the wood first (possibly with several coats of paint) and then add multiple coats of polyurethane to protect the finished artwork.
